Spiders are attracted to warm, dark and confined spaces such as cracks, crevices , air vents and garden areas. However, some species prefer to stay closer to the outdoors, weaving their webs in your garden or near your outdoor lighting.

Although most common spiders at home are not really harmful, they can be a nuisance because of their webbing and can induce fear to some people,a spider bite could be venomous. In Australia, most spider bites are not considered to be harmful to humans. Very few spider bites result in victims requiring urgent medical attention or treatment.

FACT: Did you know that fear of spiders is known as arachnophobia? Some people with this phobia will scream, cry, have excessive sweating or even heart trouble when they come in contact with an area near spiders or their webs.

How do spiders get into your premises?

Spiders usually enter homes in two primary ways:

Through open and poorly screened windows or doors.

Through cracks and gaps around door and window frames.

Most of the time, spiders come inside the home looking for food and shelter. The other common method of entry is accidentally hitchhiking inside boxes, on outdoor items and numerous other things that are brought inside your home or business premises.
